The download page lists several versions of SMM for download. Each supported Sonic version requires a separate download! All of the download links are for SMM version 2.3.

If you had previously installed SMM for your version of Sonic, you do not need to re-download! It will be updated automatically through the Java Web Start update mechanism.

Note that an attempt to use Sonic Message Manager 2.3 to connect to a Sonic 7.6.2 Domain results in the error dialog box "Failed to connect to config server: Directory Service is not the required version. Evidently SMM 2.3 is not backward compatible.

I have created ticket number #155 to track this enhancement. I'll take a look at what's causing the less-than-useful formatting when I get time.

As far as I know, this is not possible without using management security. The ability to execute management requests (like requesting a queue list) means that you can execute *any* management request. This is the reason management security has been added to sonic in the first place.

Is it possible, without management security, to give access to SMM to users without giving them admin access to Sonic Management Console? I have tried what is indicated in the SMM manual but doing so allows the user to create/delete queues etc.. Thanks in advance

Hi,

I would like it very much if the text formatting returns to the v2.0 style.
In v2.0 it was (more) pretty-printed, which is very useful when browsing lots of (header) messages.
The current formatting makes it more difficult to see differences.

Regards,

Hugo Boog

This requires a connection to the management broker to enumerate the available message brokers and the queues that exist on those brokers. It cannot do this when connecting directly to a message broker and thus it cannot work.

It will work fine if you have multiple brokers listening on different ports and on different servers, as long as you have entered their TCP_ACCEPTORs correctly (with the full url to the machine/port).

If you do not have access to the management broker it is impossible to use this tool and you should use the JMS Test Client. A version that will allow this kind of use would not be trivial to create as you would need an interface to define the available brokers and queues manually. It would take several days of development to do this and I just haven't the time to do it.

I have customer that would love to use this tool. However, it does not work for their implementation because the tool requires always connect only to management broker. Their message broker is listening on a different port than the management broker and do not have access to management broker in environments other than development. Any future plan??

Is it possible for the list of queues to include system queues as well. i.e. deadmessage and routing queue
